What we will cover

1x1.trans Introduction to Street Photography and Developing Your Own Unique Style with Ludovic Maillard (Paris 10/20 10/21)

On Saturday, you will get the chance to learn the fundamentals of street photography; what makes a great image, how to approach strangers, how to be invisible, and how to use optimal camera settings to capture decisive moments. Ludovic will discuss how to then turn projects into portfolios and then into a distinct personal style.

You will have the opportunity to apply what you learned through an accompanied on-the-street photography assignment. the assignment will allow you to interact with strangers, how to anticipate compelling images, and to think more succinctly about shooting one type of project.

On Sunday morning you will meet early to capture Paris awakening. After a full morning of shooting, you will edit your images to find the best three images of the two days. After a brief introduction to Lightroom 4 and Silver EFex Pro 2, you will have the chance to process your select images. There will be extensive discussion on each of the selected images with instruction on how you can improve your craft by both Ludovic and the rest of the workshop participants.

Although street photography can be intimidating, this workshop will teach you the practical skills on how to become more courageous and bold. You will learn how to capture “the beauty in the mundane” through candid images of people in their ordinary environments. Street photography is a wonderful craft, and this workshop will be helpful for those who want to get their feet wet!
